ABOUT THE ROLE
The Social Media Strategist will play a key role on the Marketing team and in the company, developing and overseeing execution of social media strategies that drive traffic, membership and other company goals. Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of related experience and possess the ability to work with team members to define and implement social media strategy to advance this growing, purpose-driven organization.
Qualified applicants will ideally be in –or able to periodically travel to– the DC metro area; a remote work option is available.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with marketing team, including content marketing, PR, design and digital marketing staff, and others across the company to create and execute a social marketing strategy
- Develop social media marketing campaigns to drive traffic and membership
- Set up, manage and track paid social media campaigns
- Identify platform-specific content ideas and manage and approve all social content
- Manage editorial calendar in concert with social media and marketing department; provide weekly updates on activity
- Write content and edit content written by others
- Perform social listening and identify relevant content ideas
- Serve as project manager for all related initiatives
- Track, analyze and report on analytics
- Track social media budgets and optimize performance
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of social media experience working with large companies (ideal candidates will have a mix of marketing agency experience and experience managing social media embedded within an organization).
- Proven ability to implement and manage various social media channels, platforms and campaigns
- Strong social media and content/digital creation skills
- Experience with social media content management systems, as well as social media monitoring and analytics tools
- Strong strategy skills, with experience advising leaders on social strategy
- Strong analytical skills, with significant experience reporting on analytics and pulling actionable insights from data
- Highly collaborative, and skilled at working with various colleagues across a marketing team and company
- Expert project management skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
