This position combines advanced knowledge in database systems and programming languages with strong interpersonal and project management skills. We are looking for someone with a very broad interest in transforming patient-authored text into powerful new tools.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Research and create effective methods to collect, analyze, and store data efficiently that meets technical and business needs
- Build strong working relationships with the engineering team to understand technical dependencies and architectural impact
- Identify new data sources and assist with the development of new tables in the data warehouse
- Build new and maintain existing ETL processing pipelines such as Airflow and improve its efficiency
- Build data pipelines and ETL processes in AWS assisting the Machine Learning efforts
- Follow the latest developments in ETL processing and data engineering methods for analytics and machine learning
- Drive to understand organizational goals to chart out and maintain a data architecture plan
- Work with Data Scientists and Engineers to research and develop a CI/CD Process for machine learning projects
- Have strong ethical integrity about the use of data and privacy
Requirements
WHAT WE NEED:
- 5+ years of experience programming with Python
- 5+ years of experience with SQL and relational databases
- 4+ years of experience with Git and version-control
- 3+ years of experience working in a Unix environment
- Experience with AWS products and services supporting data engineering and ETL applications
- Ability to understand technical needs and convert them into a feasible architectural plan
- Experience working with Jupyter Notebooks and AWS Sagemaker
- Experience performing large scale data transformation and data cleansing processes
- Solid analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability
- Bachelor or Master degree in computer science or a related field with analytical training OR an equivalent combination of education/experience in technology and operations
