ABOUT THE ROLE

The Patient Engagement Manager will oversee all aspects of patient recruitment for Inspire’s research activities. This person will work to connect patients with a wide range of  research opportunities, with the goal of helping advance scientific discoveries. The Patient Engagement Manager will report to the SVP of Marketing and will work at the intersection of the Research and Marketing teams to plan and implement recruitment efforts.

Operating at multiple points throughout the research lifecycle, this person will collaborate with research teams and clients to gather research requirements, develop participant profiles, estimate the potential pool of participants and determine feasibility of meeting recruitment targets. Then, the Patient Engagement Manager will work with marketing staff to identify appropriate marketing tactics, create content, and plan and implement outreach efforts to find Inspire members and patients within the broader community for research projects. Finally, the Patient Engagement Manager will be responsible for tracking and optimizing the recruitment process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with Inspire’s Research team to define criteria for prospective patient volunteers
  • Collaborating with Inspire’s Community team to manage contact and follow-up with potential participants
  • Scoping opportunities to determine how many patients could be recruited using appropriate tactics and the associated costs
  • Determining the best and most precise outreach tactics for reaching participants, while also balancing the needs of community members and respecting their privacy
  • Creating compelling messages that clearly articulate research opportunities and the value of participation in a way that patients appreciate and understand, including working with medical/legal review teams at pharma and/or IRBs
  • Coordinating with Inspire’s Marketing team to develop and disseminate messaging and conduct outreach to patients
  • Tracking and measuring progress in reaching recruitment goals
  • Working with clients and vendors to manage recruitment aspects of research projects

WHAT WE NEED:

  • Have 5-7+ years of experience working in sample / patient research recruitment or a related field
  • Have familiarity with clinical research recruitment, study design, and experience working with IRBs
  • Have excellent project management skills,  excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to think strategically to solve problems
  • Are highly collaborative, with the ability to work well with colleagues in varied departments and at various levels
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree
