Create your community on Inspire by adding friends

You are already building community on Inspire through the health groups that you join. But did you know you can deepen your sense of connection and community? Adding friends on Inspire can help you stay connected to other members. Here are some tips to add friends and stay in touch about the health topics you care about:

  1. Find friends based on health interests. By adding health interests to your profile, you can more easily find other members with whom you have things in common. Health interests can include conditions, symptoms, treatments, and more.

    To add health interests to your profile, log in to Inspire. Click on your profile picture in the upper-right corner, then click “View Profile.” From here, select “My Health Interests” from the dropdown (if on your mobile phone) or from the top navigation on your profile (if on your computer).

  2. Get help connecting with new friends. Not sure who to connect with on Inspire? We can help. From your profile, select “My Network” to see a list of members you can connect with who share similar interests or communities. You can choose to either “Follow” or “Friend” your recommended contacts.


  3. Get notified when your friends post. Stay up-to-date with your friends by getting notifications about their posts. This can help you answer your friends’ health questions or simply offer them support or encouragement.

    To get notified about your friends’ posts, go to your email preferences. Under “Notify member content,” select your preference from the drop-down menu.
