MIGRAINE SURVEY

Tell us your experience

Do you suffer from migraines?
Migraine is a chronic condition, and headaches are only one symptom. People who suffer from migraines often complain of one-sided, pulsating headache pain, and sometimes nausea. Symptoms can last from several hours to several days, range in severity, and impair daily activities. The World Health Organization estimates that 50% of the world’s population suffers from headache disorders and about 30% of those experience migraines.

Have you been diagnosed with migraine?
If so, we would like to better understand your experiences with migraine.

NATIONAL MINORITY HEALTH MONTH

Share trusted Covid-19 information with your community

The Covid-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted communities of color. Each April during National Minority Health Month, we join the HHS Office of Minority Health in highlighting the importance of improving the health of racial and ethnic minorities. This year’s theme, Give Your Community a Boost, focuses on the continued importance of Covid-19 vaccination and boosters. The U.S. Surgeon General has offered recommendations on how we can all play a role in encouraging others to get vaccinated by stopping the spread of misinformation. Use the following checklist as a guide when deciding whether to trust health information.

Health Misinformation Checklist:

  • Did you check with the CDC or local public health department to see whether there is any information about the claim being made?
  • Did you ask a credible health care professional such as your doctor or nurse if they have any additional information?
  • Did you type the claim into a search engine to see if it has been verified by a credible source?
  • Did you look at the “About Us” page on the website to see if you can trust the source? If you’re not sure, don’t share!
At Inspire, we are taking active measures to reduce the spread of misinformation related to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you come across a post that you believe contains false information related to these topics, please report it to Inspire using the “report” link.

SPOTLIGHT COMMUNITY

New Inspire support community for esophageal cancer

Inspire has a new community! Through its partnership with the Esophageal Cancer Awareness Association (ECAA), the Esophageal Cancer Support Community provides outreach to patients, caregivers, and survivors, to increase public awareness of this disease and to offer education and information in a supportive environment. This community creates an open dialog for esophageal cancer patients, caregivers and all those affected with esophageal cancer.

For Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month, ECAA has announced new funding for research with Dr. Paraskevi Giannakakouat, Weill Cornell Medicine, to help advance treatments. ECAA will also focus on its Patient Advocate Foundation program to help those with specific needs and National Comprehensive Cancer Network Guidelines for patients and caregivers.

Patients and caregivers facing esophageal cancer can join our new community today at ECAware.inspire.com.

From the Community:

Experience
MCCollier, March 17

I am delighted to see this new partnership between ECAA and Inspire. Esophageal Cancer is a tough diagnosis for the patient, their family, and loved ones. This platform offers a great opportunity to interact with others going through a similar situation. From one another we gain strength to stay focused on complete healing.
Love to all, Melanie
